Happy Mothers Day

March 30, 2014
mothers day

Happy Mothers Day! I feel so bad being in Cardiff away from my Mom this year round, but with heaps and heaps of work it is physically impossible for me to be back this weekend! I sent her a card yesterday last minute after forgetting that it was today and hopefully she will get that soon. Hopeless aren't I? But I've promised to make it up to her over Easter as soon as I'm back by buying her loads of flowers and treating her for a meal! Hope you've all been treating your mothers well this mothers day!

Bombay Bicycle Club

I can safely say that Bombay Bicycle Club have been one of my fave bands for a very long time. Every single opportunity there is to see them I cannot miss it, because they are actually brilliant live. After buying my tickets in December and waiting patiently for the day to arrive, finally it was my 5th time I was going to see the band. I was pretty much counting down the days, and nearly burst out crying from excitement the morning of the gig.

The release of their new album So Long, See you Tomorrow had me a bit nervous about the gig, and I didn't know what to expect. It has such a different sound to the rest of their stuff, and I am a huge huge fan of their old stuff. But admittedly, since the release of their new album I have had it on repeat and seriously cannot get it out of my mind. It actually goes through my head when I'm trying to sleep, it is actually that brill! You can honestly see how much they have progressed as a band, which is actually admirable when you have grown up listening to them.

Luckily and as usual, they did not disappoint. As soon as I got there I was in my element. They played so many songs off their new album and it was brilliant, and mixed it up with a few classics like Always Like This. The mixture of their songs highlight how much they have grown as a band, and so did the production of their show. The only thing I can say that shocked me about seeing them this time round was that they didn't play Ivy and Gold - one of my favourites! The set was also quite short which lasted approx about an hour which was a shame when each time I've seen them before they've been on for longer. Oh as well, the Cardiff crowd didn't seem as much into it as other crowds that I have seen Bombay with. The majority of people were stood so still!

I will defo be seeing them again as soon as they pop back on tour, and I more than recommend you give their new album a listen!

A Cheeky Little Update

So lately I have been super busy with keeping things up to date. It gets a bit tough juggling a social life, heaps of uni work, sorting out internships and running 2 blogs at once. I will admit that a lot of my posts have been on my other blog, but that was because it was for one of my modules at uni so it was essential to do so! Luckily I'm reverting back to this blog now, but will still try my hardest to keep up to date with my other one too! So what have I been up to? So much uni work! I only have 4 more deadlines left, but they are so so stressful! Lately all my time and energy has been put into trying my hardest to do so much work! On a brighter note I have no exams in Summer and I am free from as of the 16th May up until September- how long?! I've also been unemployed this term out of my own choice, which has helped me juggle so many of the things going on in my life right now. It's scary to think of how fast this year has gone, I will be going back to Birmingham for Easter and then back to Cardiff for only two weeks and I will be moving back home! Scary huh? I guess I should mention too that I'm working over Easter at the place that I used to work, Moo-cha, which I am SUPER excited about!

The weather has been so stunning today. I woke up at about 12 (naughty I know, but I fancied a little lie in) to waffles and Nutella with bananas and decided to do a bit of uni work. I then headed down to the park with friends because the weather was amazing. It's getting me so excited for Summer right now! This outfit would be more than ideal don't you think? I really need to get a pair of Mom jeans in my life ASAP. But I find it so hard to tear away from skinny jeans. Also I have been lusting over these Converse for a few days now and I cannot stop thinking about them! They are b e a u t i f u l.

my week in photos

1) After struggling from being out the night before until 6am and a day of lectures and seminars, me and my house mate Eira decided a burrito from Mission Burrito was more than needed. Luckily our house mate Olivia drove us into town on her way to the gym, otherwise I would have just stayed in and moaned about being hungry in my hungover and tired state.
2) A cheeky little selfie before going for Nandos with Ryan and a boozy night at Bunker- Fridays are my fave! It is pop punk heaven. Original plans were to go to Tenkaichi, a lovely little place on City Road that we had been lusting over for more than a year, but unfortunately it was too packed. Maybe next time ey?
3) This is my final submission for my other blog which you can check out here if you haven't already. I thoroughly enjoy this module, Social Media Trends, and blogging was super fun. I will defo be carrying on with that blog too, it was so entertaining to find people who dressed well and lurking in different places!
4) 20 chicken nuggets? Need I say anymore? I'm a huge huge fan of chicken nuggets, especially when bbq and curry sauce is involved. Mmmm.
5) This is myself and the lovely Liam and Josie. This was such a spontaneous night out - which are always the best ones! If you fancy checking out their blogs don't be afraid to click on their names, they've become keen little bloggers now too! Especially Josie, for some reason we always find ourselves drunkenly saying we will blog about every single detail - oh dear!
6) Dominos large pizza 2 4 1. Spectacular, especially when you're a student! I opted for a vegi option this time round, but customised it with chicken and it was delightful. My mouth is watering as I'm typing this right now!

p.s - This post just made me realise that I eat out way too much for a student. Woops.
