NEW CRIB YO

September 29, 2014
So I am back in Cardiff and these past few days have been very very weird, so I'm just going to try and keep myself occupied so heres a little blog post for you! I've moved into my new house and I am very excited over how pretty it is. When I say excited, I mean VERY excited! Being the nice girl I am I thought that I would share a few snaps with you! These are a few pics from the living room and my bedroom and already it is beginning to feel like home!

We've made the house into our own little boudoir, full of incense sticks, fairy lights, candles and pictures of very attractive men. Of course, Josh Beech has a cheeky little appearance. My room seems relatively girly which is quite weird for me, but overall I am happy!

PHOTO DIARY

September 11, 2014
I am currently slumped with HEAPS of work to do. But I'm having a little break to reflect on my week. I've had quite an exciting week as I finally picked up the keys to my new house in Cardiff which is b e a u t i f u l and I am super stoked to be moving in next week! But anyway here are a few snaps from my Instagram!

This picture just shows how well and truly fucked my Old Skools are. But when it comes to any pair of Vans it is a crime when they are neat, and I am the sort of girl who would prefer to wear a pair of Vans on a night out than look like a twat in heels I cannot walk in. Come to think of it, no pair of Vans I have ever owned have been kept neat, woopsy.

This is a generic picture of my hand. How lame? Nah actually I was quite pleased with my ring situation this day so thought it would make a cute lil snap. I am addicted to jewellery and the chances are that you will NEVER catch me without a hand full of rings. It might be an addiction. Every time I go for food as well I find myself having to remove them because they can be that much of a restriction, waiters and waitresses are impressed that I'm so dedicated to the grub that I rearrange my outfit. This especially happens in TGI's.

So I got the chance to interview Stewart Bryden, an awesome photographer for Cheer Up Clothing. I'd like to think it's an interesting read, my fave piece of information after chatting with him was that his dream collaboration to photograph would be Slipknot in Dior. Fancy giving it a read? Click here

I love frozen yogurt, I am ALWAYS craving it so thought giving the Ben and Jerry's froyo would be a good idea. From the packaging I thought it would be a natural yogurt with bits of raspberries and chocolate in the mix but I was slightly disappointed to find it was raspberry flavour yogurt. Oh another disappointment was that rather than it being frozen yogurt as it is advertised to be, it is actually a mix of frozen yogurt and ice cream which pretty much takes away the healthy aspect of it all. Not cool Ben and Jerry's!

I took a trip back to Cardiff the other day and the weather was sooo nice! Naturally, nice weather means cute dungarees. I had completely forgotten about these ones and I was over the moon when I found them in my wardrobe again! The embroidery is sweet as fuck and they are an absolute gem from Miss Selfridge.

Finally gave Arizona tea a go! I love cold green tea, especially when it has ginseng and honey in it too! My immune system has been well and truly worn out the past few weeks and I've been feeling extremely exhausted and ill. But Arizona was a nice pick me up that made me feel that teeny bit better. And it was yummy. Mmm.

I LOVE tartan. And I love it more when it is pleated tartan. This skirt was from Forever 21 and I am so in love with it. I cannot wait to wear it in Winter days with chunky knits. Tartan will always have a place in my heart.

This is a snap from Paris with Harry! Scrolling through my Paris pictures made me realise how much of a good trip it was. I miss Paris so much, probably one of the best trips I have ever been on and I will defo be paying a visit back again ASAP.

What have you guys been up to this week?

MEDIA STUDIES

September 04, 2014

With third year of university literally being around the corner, it is pretty normal having members of my family asking me what I want to do with my future. I'm at the University of Cardiff studying Journalism, Media and Cultural Studies and entering final year it is safe to say that I have had enough of people thinking I sit in my lectures quite literally doing fuck all because of the negative stigma attached to my degree. I do often get the whole "oh you do media, you must be thick" statement thrown at me a lot, especially on nights out from those who like to classify themselves in the higher tier of educational courses. Half the time I wish I could turn around and lash out at them because having people calling me thick does quite frankly get on my tits. But I don't quite fancy seeing myself locked up.

Growing up my ideas of what I wanted to be in the future constantly changed. When I was in nursery my teachers asked me what I wanted as a job I apparently turned around and said a lollypop lady. The photograph of a teeny me dressed up as a lollypop lady with a lack of ambition still seems to be the laughing joke of my family, and I will not be posting it on here because yellow just is not my colour! As I grew up my ideas changed, through out primary school being a journalist was my dream job. I guess this ambition stemmed from me tagging along to work with my mom who is in the PR&Marketing industry. Journalists were everywhere and I just felt so inspired by their passion towards writing. Next thing you know, I've gone to high school and fashion was the main ambition. I didn't quite know what I wanted to do in fashion, but I knew that was it. Then came college. Graphics was it for me, I could feel it in my bones I just loved everything to do with graphics! But then as college went by, I started feeling really passionate towards one of my subjects - Communication and Culture. Learning about society and the manipulation that the powerful have over us got my rethinking my future. That was it, I NEEDED to go onto do a communication/ culture related course at uni!

A Level results came and just like everyone else I was petrified. I guess its because I've always been the sort of person who puts a lot of pressure on my self to do well, and stresses huge amounts when things don't go the way I planned. After 2 years at college I was over the moon with my results A*AB, and even at that point I didn't think I wanted to go down some more academic route like doing maths for example. Instead, I was just excited that I had achieved grades that exceeded my first option uni offer and now am at a university that is internationally recognised for my course.

All I will say is that I am glad to be doing something that helps me understand things about the world that I live in and something that I am passionate about. Sure, I wish my course was a bit more practical but the theoretical aspect of it all does really get me thinking about life. No, us media students don't just sit there watching movies. Instead, we learn about important things like different groups of people in society, how culture is going to constantly change and how new technology is making such a prominent change to all our lives. Why do I enjoy this? The answer is simple. Because understanding this means that us media students have the ability to reshape the future.

My future? Hopefully it is still fashion related but is in the PR&Marketing field. I've promised myself that I wont be rocking a lollypop lady outfit any time soon!

P.S - Us JOMEC students scrub up well!

LAZY OOTD

September 03, 2014
Stripes are my fave thing lately, and I have been on a major stripes shopping haul!  I've bought loads of striped dresses, tee's, and random shit - I seriously don't know what is wrong with me but I think that this is what love feels like. This OOTD is super casual as I've just finished work for the day and am unfortunately suffering from sinusitis (ew) so seriously I cannot be arsed with effort!

This tee itself is from H&M and it was one hell of a banging bargain. I've always found that H&M are perfect when it came to basics but it turns out that they're pretty damn good in the stripe department these days too! My jeans are a pair of jeans that I've had hiding away for about 6 years, quite literally, but I'm glad I found these bad boys in my wardrobe again because they are the comfiest things ever. Plus, they add a spot of colour to my OOTD which is quite a surprise actually when me and colour don't really work well! My boots are Topshop, the day I bought them was the happiest day of my life (not even joking) but lately I've found myself falling out of love with them. I guess its because I've been reluctant to wear them after spending so much money on them and one of the buckles went missing- not so great quality Topshop tutut! The necklace is quite a simple chain that I picked up from H&M as well (wow I sound like a H&M whore), I just love how delicate and dainty it looks over the bold stripes of the tee!

Lipstick wise I have opted for Topshop Lips in shade 'Rio Rio'. For me this is a huge risk, and I cannot remember the last lipstick I bought that wasn't Mac. Well apart from that time in freshers during the student lock in where I got pressured into buying a Calvin Klein lippy - even though I'm a Mac gal at heart. I have come to realise that spending so much on lipstick these days is riiiidiculous though and this Topshop lipstick came with a lovely little price tag and is probably my fave shade of red yet!
